The local church is the hope of the world. The heartbeat of the Surge conference is to unite churches in winning our cities and nations for Jesus. It truly is time for the church to SURGE! Join us for two days of dynamic praise and worship, anointed preaching and great times of fellowship together in Scotland’s capital.
Yinka Oyekan is a local church pastor and the founding leader of ‘The Turning’, a rapidly growing initiative that seeks to reach ordinary people on the streets of the UK and beyond. The Turning recently saw over 3000 people respond to the good news about Jesus in a nine day period in Wales. We are pleased to announce that Surge 18 coincides with the launch of The Turning in Scotland.
All kids’ age groups will experience a brilliant, interactive programme with a mix of Bible teaching and fun sessions.
The 1-2s and 3-4s will both be focussing on three young Bible heroes: David, the boy with the loaves and fishes and Naaman’s servant girl. The children will learn how we can be heroes too when we have faith in God! Over the weekend the children will enjoy age appropriate games, crafts, activities, teaching, praise, snacks, creative prayer, making their own super hero costume and much more. The children will also enjoy two afternoon fun sessions, including special guests “In the Bag” who will be entertaining us with some wonderful interactive story telling on Saturday afternoon.
The 5-11s will be looking at “What would Jesus do?” about three topics that are close to Kids’ hearts – loneliness and bullying, poverty, and the environment. Through interactive teaching, expert guests, fun activities, group times, games and crafts we will explore how we can make a difference, by being like Jesus. The children will also have two afternoon fun sessions, including special guest “Kidnetic” who will entertain us with a fantastic mix of games, comedy and disco on Saturday afternoon. We will also have creative prayer stations, and a movie night on Saturday evening!
If you're secondary school aged you do not want to miss our Youth programme at Surge! We'll have Tribal Wars in the meadows, a massive Fearless event on Saturday night featuring the Ignite band and a powerful Sunday morning meeting with John Mellor sharing his story and praying for God to move.
We'll also have amazing worship and teaching in the Usher Hall as we join with everyone else at a few points during the conference. In the run up to the conference check out @Surge18_Youth on Instagram for photos, stories and details of what's coming up on 23rd and 24th June.
